It took 11 innings, but Nebraska broke a five game losing streak, defeating the Kansas State Wildcats 5-1 on Tuesday night. Scott Schreiber scored the go ahead run and Chad Luensmann picked up his first career victory for the Huskers.
Nebraska took an early lead in the fourth inning thanks to Jake Placzek. Placzek would single, steal second base and score on a Jake Meyers single to put the Huskers up early.
Kansas State would come right back and tie the game in the fifth inning. After working four scoreless innings, Max Knutson would give up back to back singles, ending his day.
