The Nebraska Baseball team defeated the Indiana Hoosiers Friday night, taking the series opener 7-3. Nebraska got home runs from Luis Alvarado and Ben Miller to propel the offense, while Jake Hohensee went 7.1 innings, giving up three runs.
After Hohensee put down the first six Hoosiers in order, Indiana woulds strike first in the bottom of the third. After a leadoff double from Ryan Finneman, Hohensee would get the next two batters, including an outstanding defensive play from Mike Waldron. Unfortunately, a two out double from Alex Krupa would plate a run for the Hoosiers.
Nebraska would respond in the top of the fourth, when Ben Miller battled Indiana starting pitcher Jonathan Stiever for seven pitches, before planting a fastball into right field for his second home run of the season.
