As has been the case with a lot of the matchups lately between Nebraska and Creighton on the baseball diamond, weather was a factor in how the game was played. The wind was blowing straight in from center. Twice in the middle innings, Husker third baseman Josh Overbeek hit a ball 104 and 105 mph off the bat. Usually a 100 mph ball is over the fence, or at least hits the wall, today however they ended up about medium depth in center field.
That bodes well if a pitcher just throws strikes and forces the other team to hit balls on the ground, but around the infielders.
