Five years ago. That was the last time Nebraska Baseball won a regional game. Heading into Friday’s contest against Connecticut, they wanted to end the drought. The Huskers did in a huge way.
However, as predicted, this was not an easy win. UConn scored two runs in the first inning and put Nebraska Baseball in a hole early. In hindsight, maybe this was a good test for the team. They were faced with adversity, and now it was up to them to respond to it in a big way. They did just that in the following half of the inning as homered to make it a 2-1 ballgame.
