The Nebraska men's tennis team began its 2021 season Thursday night, facing off against the Wisconsin Badgers in doubles play in the first of four days of competition at the Badger Invitational in Madison, Wis.
Six Huskers made their season debut Thursday, as Nebraska competed in three doubles matches against Wisconsin. Freshman Nic Wiedenhorn made his debut as he and junior teammate Victor Moreno Lozano showed promise despite falling to Wisconsin's Lenard Soha and Scott Sculley, 6-2. The sophomore tandem of Albert Sprlak-Puk and Shunya Maruyama, competing as doubles partners for the second time in their careers, lost a 6-1 decision to the Badgers' duo of Jared Pratt and Robin Parts.
