It was close early, but then it was not. Nebraska scored fourteen runs in the fourth and fifth innings combined and cruised to a 18-4 victory in an elimination contest on Sunday afternoon. Joe Acker went 4-5 for the Huskers and Shay Schanaman made possibly his best start of the season for a Nebraska pitching staff needing all the help it can get.

Schanaman worked around a two out error by Cam Chick at second to put up a zero on the scoreboard.

The Huskers took an early lead thanks to Acker. He tripled off the wall in dead center field to start the Husker first.
