LEXINGTON, Ky. — Amber Rolfzen was a right-side hitter last season, but now is continuing her strong season as a middle blocker for the Nebraska volleyball team in the NCAA Tournament.
Friday, Rolfzen had 12 kills with a .550 hitting percentage to help the Huskers to a 3-0 win against BYU in the Sweet 16.
Rolfzen also had a hand in five of the Huskers’ 10½ blocks.
The Huskers' blocking came alive in the second set. After having only one block in the first set, the Huskers had six in the second set alone.
Rolfzen helped the Huskers get out to an early lead in the first set with kills on three consecutive rallies for an 8-4 lead, the first two on slide plays, and then on a tip.
