OMAHA — For the second time, Nebraska has a hometown NCAA championship in volleyball.
The Huskers took down mighty Texas 25-23, 25-23, 25-21 on Saturday for the title. Nebraska won its fourth NCAA championship, after also winning in Omaha in 2006.
The Huskers finished the season with a 16-match winning streak.
Nebraska won Saturday by being great at the end of three pressure-packed sets.
It felt just a little better because the win came against a Texas team that had won five straight matches against Nebraska and nine of the last 10 dating to 2008.
