Rylie Unzicker was at a friend's house, sitting at a table. Nothing out of the ordinary.
That, however, changed as her friends scanned through their social media accounts.
Spotted was a tweet from Millard South softball coach Steve Kerkman. Friends told Unzicker that she was selected to play in the prestigious Premier Girls Fastpitch all-star game in Huntington Beach, California.
There was a sense of surprise, but excitement soon followed for one of the top softball players to come through the state of Nebraska.
"It was a very humbling feeling," Unzicker said this week from California.
