On Thursday, the true freshman wide receiver ran a fly route and was covered by two defenders during a practice at Memorial Stadium. Tanner Lee lofted the ball toward him anyway. Lindsey went up and came down with a one-handed grab.
"I think I would have made it," the Nebraska redshirt freshman receiver said with a smile.
Any opportunistic receiver would have said the same thing. But Spielman, nicknamed "Taz" for "Tasmanian devil," gets it. Want to get on the field? Make the plays.
"That's how you have to think when you're a wide receiver," he said.
