Moos: Bethune-Cookman became an option for 12th game within days of Akron cancellation

Nebraska announced an Oct. 27 home game against Bethune-Cookman on Thursday afternoon, filling in a scheduling gap created when Sept. 1's season-opener against Akron was canceled amidst a lengthy lightning storm.

The new game falls on what would have been the Huskers' open date, meaning Scott Frost's first team will play 12 straight weeks.

Even though Bethune-Cookman is an FCS program, Nebraska could count a victory toward bowl eligibility because it's the only FCS team on the schedule.
