The 5-foot-7 freshman with the long hair and the scraggly beard came to Lincoln hoping first to just earn a roster spot with the Nebraska baseball team. After getting one he just wanted to find some playing time.
He's done both. And in the process become perhaps the Huskers' top early season offensive threat.
"Players make plays," NU coach Darin Erstad said Thursday. "You watch, and he just kind of had a flair for the dramatic when he was in high school. He'd just come up with a big hit or a big home run. Just seemed to always be in the mix of the action when they were having success.
