Lincoln – Senior first baseman Ben Miller has been named one of 30 candidates for the 2017 Senior CLASS Award® in collegiate baseball. A native of Clive, Iowa, Miller was one of three Big Ten baseball players named to the list. He was joined by Illinois’ Pat McInerney and Ohio State’s Jalen Washington.
To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.
32nd-round pick by the Pittsburgh Pirates last year, Miller turned down professional baseball to instead return to Nebraska for his senior season.
