Miles not settled on lineup with versatile group

Ask Tim Miles who his starting five will be this season, and you may get five different answers in five minutes.

That’s not necessarily a bad situation for the fourth-year Nebraska men’s basketball coach, who has a roster void of size but loaded with improved skill and versatility.

So it’s difficult, really, to pigeonhole certain players into positions and slap on labels.

Wednesday, for instance, 6-foot-7 freshman Jack McVeigh, one of the team’s top three-point shooters in practice, played some center.

That’s in part because of the aforementioned overall lack of size, and because McVeigh boasts a 7-foot wing span that can be beneficial for a frontcourt player.
