The Nebraska baseball team stumbled out of the gate and despite a late charge, could not overcome Michigan's early, big lead Friday in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Michigan handed NU its third consecutive loss in a 10-6 decision in the first of a three-game series. The teams meet at 1 p.m. Saturday and at noon Sunday.
"It's maddening, and gosh, we've been through this how many times, walk three-plus batters, hit a batter in three-plus innings to start," Nebraska coach Darin Erstad said on his postgame radio show.
Michigan jumped to a 2-0 lead in the first inning when Husker catcher Taylor Fish had a strikeout pitch go through his legs with two outs, and leadoff batter Jake Bivens, who walked four timest, scored.
