Nebraska pitchers Jake Meyers and Chad Luensmann shut down the NCAA's leading offense and helped the Huskers to a 1-0 victory over No. 14 Arizona on Sunday in the Frisco Classic in Frisco, Texas.
"We had all the excuses, a quick turnaround, getting to the rooms at 1:30 a.m. and playing at noon against a very good team, but we found a way to win," said Nebraska coach Darin Erstad. "Jake and Chad showed a lot of heart.
"Jake has been pressing at the plate and is frustrated, and he didn't have his best stuff today, but he separated the frustration batting from his pitching and got it done," Erstad said.
