BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Nebraska’s trip to the Big Apple wasn’t all for naught.
After Friday night’s loss to Cincinnati, the Husker men's basketball team (5-2) redeemed itself on Saturday afternoon with an 82-71 win over Tennessee at the Barclays Center Classic.
The Huskers opened the second half with a 17-4 run and led by as many as 22. Tennessee clawed to within nine with 1:25 to play, but Nebraska refused to break.
The key to Saturday’s win was balance. The Huskers had five players in double figures and got 21 points from their bench. Tai Webster followed up Friday’s 21-point performance with a team-high 18 points against the Vols.
