NEW YORK — Nebraska’s trip to the Big Apple wasn’t all for naught.
After Friday night’s loss to Cincinnati, the Husker men’s basketball team rebounded on Saturday afternoon with an 82-71 win over Tennessee at the Barclays Center Classic.
The Huskers (5-2) opened the second half with a 17-4 run and led by as many as 22 points. Tennessee clawed back to within nine, but Nebraska refused to break.
“Tennessee has come back on everybody and made it a ballgame down to the last possession with a smart coach and veteran leadership players,” Nebraska coach Tim Miles said.
