Heraklion, Crete – Incoming freshman Jack McVeigh was one of three players to finish in double figures, as Australia finished seventh at the FIBA Under-19 World Championship with a 103-72 victory over Spain on Sunday.
McVeigh, a 6-foot-7 guard/forward, finished with 15 points on 5-of-13 shooting and 3-of-4 shooting from the foul line. McVeigh also added seven rebounds, including five offensive boards, and a pair of assists, as Australia built an 18-point halftime lead and cruised to a 31-point win.
Tanner Krebs led Australia with 31 points, including 7-of-10 from 3-point range, while Jordan Hunter added 14 points in the winners.
