Low pressure: Chinander, Huskers searching for ways to make life difficult on opposing QBs

But it’s not as simple as saying the Huskers can’t get pass rushers to the quarterback.

“It’s not like it’s one guy,” defensive coordinator Erik Chinander said. “It’s a collaboration of a whole bunch of guys.”

The fall started with a boom when the Blackshirts racked up seven sacks against Colorado on Sept. 8. The numbers are still far better than 2017 — NU’s already past its season total from last fall — but the Huskers have only eight more sacks in the past five games.

The slowing rate is in part because NU just doesn’t have a deep stable of high-end pass rushers.
