But it’s not as simple as saying the Huskers can’t get pass rushers to the quarterback.
“It’s not like it’s one guy,” defensive coordinator Erik Chinander said. “It’s a collaboration of a whole bunch of guys.”
The fall started with a boom when the Blackshirts racked up seven sacks against Colorado on Sept. 8. The numbers are still far better than 2017 — NU’s already past its season total from last fall — but the Huskers have only eight more sacks in the past five games.
The slowing rate is in part because NU just doesn’t have a deep stable of high-end pass rushers.
