The University of Nebraska has received word from the NCAA that linebacker Breon Dixon has been granted a waiver and will be eligible to play next season.
Dixon comes to Nebraska from Ole Miss, where he played as a true freshman as a defensive back. He played in six games, recording five tackles and a quarterback hurry.
Dixon played in the Nebraska spring game as an outside linebacker, recording eight tackles, including two tackles for loss. He is 5’ 11’, and 205 lbs, and has speed sorely needed at the the outside linebacker position. He is a hybrid athlete who will play OLB in Chinander’s scheme, but will also drop into pass coverage.
