The full stop headline walking into the stadium tonight was easy to pick up on. Wind. It was going to change the game one way or another. Usually it whips around the stadium out in the middle of the flood plain, or blows straight in from right field, but tonight it was absolutely howling out to left field, something I hadn’t seen in both direction and intensity since Michigan was in town for the season finale in 2019 when the final game was delayed until 9:45 pm and finished in the wee hours of the morning.
Shockingly enough, the game started out as a pitcher’s dual.
