In a preview of sorts for the Big Ten Championships, the Nebraska men placed third and the Husker women ninth at the Greeno/Dirksen Invitational cross country meet Saturday at Mahoney Golf Course.
The Husker men placed two runners in the top five, with George Kusche second in 24 minutes, 41.4 seconds, and Mark Freyhof fourth in 2:48.0, a personal best for the 8-kilometer race.
"The meet was a good preview for the Big Ten Championships," Husker coach David Harris said. "We have some kinks to work out and we are going to do that here in the next month.
