Just bloggin': Terry Bowden says Hall-of-Fame father Bobby won't make it to Lincoln this time

For those wondering, Bobby Bowden won’t spend Saturday night in Lincoln watching his son coach.

“He’s going to miss the Nebraska game so he can watch us play Morgan State the next week (in Akron),” said Akron Zips head coach Terry Bowden, 31-44 in six seasons at the school.

Nebraska is heavily favored to open the Scott Frost era with a win against Akron, which Athlon magazine projects to finish fourth in the MAC East Division.

Bobby Bowden, 88, the former Florida State coach and close friend of Tom Osborne, was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2006.
