Count Tommie Frazier among those who admire the work of Adrian Martinez, in large part because Frazier understands the challenges of leading a college football team as an underclassman.
Frazier, arguably the greatest option-style quarterback in college football history, arrived at Nebraska in August of 1992 and by the sixth game that season, a 34-24 win at Missouri, he was the starter.
"One of the first things I did when I became a starter is I let people know that this is my huddle," Frazier said Friday. "I think there were certain people who didn't really like it, because I was this little freshman.
