The last college football game that Greg Bell played in was a big one — the junior college national championship game — but was played in front of a crowd of only about 3,000 fans in Perkinston, Mississippi.
But when Bell showed up at Memorial Stadium on Saturday for the Red-White Spring Game, there was an announced attendance of 86,818.
“It was shocking,” Bell said. “I’ve never seen that many fans in my life playing a game, so it was a good experience.”
He averaged 6.8 yards per carry rushing, including runs of 12, 13 and 17 yards.
