With the bats struggling, Regan Mergele and Kaylan Jablonski combined in the circle to keep DePaul off the scoreboard Sunday.
The two pitchers combined to scatter seven hits in the Nebraska softball team's 1-0 victory to close out the Easton Invitational in Fullerton, California.
Mergele got the start, throwing 3 2/3 innings. Jablonski (13-5) entered in the fourth, stranded a runner on third and pitched three more scoreless innings to pick up the win.
But Nebraska was able to break through in the third inning. Alyvia Simmons doubled to left center, and advanced to third on a wild pitch.
