Is losing veterans in the off-season a good or bad thing?

Nebraska is going through what can only be described as a topsy-turvy season. It has little to no offensive identity and a defensive unit that can be elite or mediocre weekly. The frustration is more about the inconsistency on the field than the current record, as everyone in the know was looking around a 7-5 season, which still looks possible. If the team had played solid, sound football through the first nine games and came to the same record, would the villagers be at the castle’s doors with the pitchforks baying for blood? I think not.

This team has suffered so much emotional scarring from losing for such an extended period that the players don’t know what it feels like to be a winning program.
