BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Drake Robison held Northwestern to one run in seven innings, Jake Adams homered twice, and Iowa won the Big Ten Tournament for the first time with a 13-4 victory over Northwestern on Sunday.
The fifth-seeded Hawkeyes (38-20) earned the Big Ten's automatic NCAA bid and will make their second appearance in the national tournament in three years.
Iowa entered the day with an RPI ranking of 81, and Sunday's victory will likely burst a team's NCAA Tournament bubble when the field of 64 is revealed at 11 a.m. Monday.
The Hawkeyes' victory also means the Big Ten could be in line for five NCAA Tournament bids.
