In letter, Bounds stresses university's stance on First Amendment rights

Just days after three Nebraska football players knelt in protest during the national anthem, University of Nebraska President Hank Bounds sent out a letter to faculty and students in the NU system.

In the letter, which was later released to the public, Bounds stresses the importance of First Amendment rights for all students and employees.

The letter comes a day after NU Regent Hal Daub told the Journal Star that three players -- Michael Rose-Ivey, Mohamed Barry and DaiShon Neal -- should be kicked off the team for kneeling during the national anthem prior to Saturday's game at Northwestern.
