Lincoln – Behind a combined 39 points from Shavon Shields and Andrew White III, Nebraska defeated Minnesota, 84-59, at Pinnacle Bank Arena Tuesday night.
The Huskers dominated the Gophers in the first half behind 19 first-half points from Shields. After falling behind 8-4 to start the game, Nebraska went on a 14-2 run to give the Huskers an 18-10 lead. After a Minnesota basket, the Huskers went on a 15-0 run giving Nebraska a 33-12 lead. The Huskers and Gophers traded baskets to end the half giving Nebraska a 47-26 lead heading into the locker room.
Nebraska continued its dominance in the second-half building a 38-point lead at the 8:43 mark in the second half.
