In honor of Black History Month, the Nebraska men's basketball team will pay tribute to Wilbur Wood by wearing alternate uniforms for three games.
Wood was the first African-American basketball player at Nebraska. He lettered at NU from 1908-10.
The uniforms, designed to celebrate Nebraska's early years, feature red tones and a cream stripe across the jersey with the "N" logo displayed. The shoes are inspired by Jesse Owens, who won four gold medals at the 1936 Berlin Summer Games.
Nebraska will wear the uniforms in a home game against Penn State on Feb. 13. The Huskers also will wear the uniforms for road games at Indiana (Feb.
