Huskers split two more games in Lone Star College Classic

For the second straight day, the Nebraska softball team split its games against Lamar and Texas Tech in the Lone Star College Classic in Houston.

Sophomore Olivia Ferrell bounced back from Friday's loss to Texas Tech to pitch six solid innings against Lamar. She struck out a career-best nine batters and didn't allow a walk. Regan Mergele earned the save.

Senior catcher Bri Cassidy led the Husker offense, finishing with two hits, including a double. Bree Boruff also had two hits.

Nebraska (2-2) scored three runs in the fifth to take a 6-2 lead. The Cardinals rallied with two runs on three hits in the top of the sixth.
