HUSKERS SOFTBALL Weekly: It’s NU-Minnesota in the Battle for the Bye

Let’s skip the big intro and just start with the current B1G softball standings. (Please note Nebraska has played two fewer games than everyone else in the logjam, both likely wins. This would have put them in a 3-way tie for 3rd place, not a 4-way tie for 5th.)

Here’s what we know about the upcoming weekend:

• The top four teams will get to sit out Wednesday’s opening round. The bottom two teams will get to sit out the entire tournament.
• The hilarity of Iowa - tied for last and the lowest ranked B1G team in RPI at #151 - being in position to sit out the conference tournament they’re hosting cannot be overstated.
