HUSKERS SOFTBALL Recap - REVENGE: NEBRASKA 12 Indiana 4

Related Topics: Nebraska Huskers, Shonda Stanton

Even though Hoosiers coach Shonda Stanton threw a tirade Friday and got herself ejected, it was the Huskers who went home steamed after a 6-2 loss on in a contest where the wind blew balls into Indiana gloves and little went right.

Saturday afternoon was much different story in an 12-4 victory which was highlighted by a 7-run 3rd inning which effectively put the game away. Excepting Kacie Hoffman’s leadoff double which reached the center field wall, there were no big blasts or wow moments.

It was the classic death by a thousand paper cuts as the Nebraska Cornhuskers batted around sending 12 hitters to the plate and scored their runs through a combination of 7 hits, a double steal, a hit batsman, a walk, a bases loaded pop-up to short center field which three Hoosiers watched hit the turf, and two pitching changes (of five on the day).
