HUSKERS SOFTBALL Recap - One Jam Too Many: Purdue 6 NEBRASKA 2

The Huskers had twice previously escaped bases loaded jams with no blood drawn and carried a 1-0 lead into the 5th inning. But with runners on second and third and one out, the music finally stopped playing and the Huskers found themselves without a chair.

Three straight hits later - a double a single and another double - Purdue led 3-1 and never looked back in cruising to a 6-2 victory which dropped the Nebraska Cornhuskers to 24-9 on the season and 7th in the Big 10 race behind a logjam of Big 10 teams with zero or one conference losses, whereas a win would have tied them for 2nd with UCLA behind undefeated Northwestern, whom no one has bothered to tell they should be dropping down the standings this season.
