It was one of those games we knew would happen in which the Nebraska Cornhuskers needed Jordy Bahl to put everything on her back and try to steal one herself. And don’t get me wrong, she tried. She really did.
Through 7 innings, she had another no-no going with 9 strikeouts and Nebraska’s scoring chances outnumbering Duke’s. She also went 2-3 at the plate with a triple and a double, but found no one to knock her in. And because the leadoff spot behind her has yet to find a hit in Palm Springs, there was no one on base to drive home either.
