When Nebraska assistant men’s basketball coach Jim Molinari called Evan Taylor about a week and a half ago, he cautioned Taylor, a junior college guard, that a scholarship offer wasn’t guaranteed, even though the Huskers were showing serious interest.
““But as the week progressed, I started hearing from Coach (Tim) Miles, Coach (Kenya) Hunter,” Taylor said, “and eventually an opportunity presented itself for me to come on a visit and play with the guys and see how I liked it, see how I meshed.”
Taylor felt a good fit, and so did the Nebraska coaches.
They offered Taylor a scholarship on Sunday, and he accepted and signed, giving Nebraska an immediately-eligible combo guard with two seasons of eligibility to replace the spot vacated by Andrew White, who abruptly transferred after graduating.
