Lincoln - Jessica Shepard and Natalie Romeo both produced 20-point scoring efforts and the Nebraska defense played a record-tying first half in an 89-38 win over Southern Monday night at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
The Huskers completed their season-opening home stand with a 4-0 record thanks to 22 points, six rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals from Shepard. The two-time Big Ten Freshman of the Week notched her fourth consecutive 20-point performance to open her career, including 14 points on 6-of-6 shooting in the first quarter to help the Big Red jump to a 29-10 lead.
