Dan Kendig wanted his Nebraska women's gymnastics team to put a little early pressure on the final six teams competing at the Big Ten Championships.
Behind a season-high score on the uneven bars, the No. 13 Huskers posted their top road score of the season, and second highest of the season, with a 196.950 in Saturday's afternoon session to take the early lead in Champaign, Illinois.
"We brought energy and we came out and hit routines," Kendig told the Big Ten Network after the session.
Megan Schweihofer posted a career-high 39.525 in the all-around to take the early lead and is also tied with Penn State's Briannah Tsang for the lead in the floor exercise with 9.
