Huskers see late lead slip away in double-overtime loss at Washington State

Despite trailing by double digits in the fourth quarter, the Nebraska women's basketball team had several chances to leave the Pacific Northwest with a victory.

Washington State withstood NU's fourth-quarter push, rallied to tie the game late in the first overtime and then held on for an 87-84 double-overtime win Friday night in Pullman, Washington.

Nebraska led by four with 1 minutes, 42 seconds remaining in the first overtime before Washington State tied it at 78-78.

Back-to-back threes from Maddie Simon and Hannah Whitish gave the Huskers an 84-82 in the second overtime, but the Cougars' scored the final seven points.
