The issue of Friday night football coming to the Big Ten even on a limited basis continues to produce debate, with enough opposition to it that league athletic directors and leaders met earlier this week with high school sports administrators to discuss the matter.
With the Huskers set to play one such Friday night game at Illinois this year on Sept. 29, and the very real possibility Nebraska could host another Friday night game either in 2018 or 2019, the topic is on the mind of some NU fans, too.
When Nebraska athletic director Shawn Eichorst and coach Mike Riley conducted their state tour last week, one fan in McCook asked Eichorst if the Huskers planned to continue to go along with the Big Ten's Friday night package while some schools (Michigan and Penn State) have put up a wall to the idea of hosting games that night.
