Much of the football-specific conversation through Nebraska’s bye week revolved around what it will take to get the Blackshirts back on track.

The numbers against Wisconsin and Ohio State — 11 touchdowns in 12 series and 47 points per game allowed — have been mulled over, chewed on, spit out and repeated as the Huskers slogged through the two weeks between that Oct. 14 debacle at Memorial Stadium and Saturday night’s return to action at Purdue.

Take a closer look at the offensive numbers — and listen to the words of head coach Mike Riley and offensive coordinator Danny Langsdorf — and that side of the ball clearly needs better production down the stretch, as well.
