Nebraska offered the Norfolk Catholic standout on Wednesday night, he confirmed to the Journal Star.
Piper became the fifth known 2019 in-state prospect to earn a scholarship offer when Scott Frost extended the offer, and he's a good bet to become the third verbal commitment of the class.
Piper, who plays offensive tackle and defensive tackle, helped Norfolk Catholic to a 13-0 record in the fall and a Class C-1 state title. In the process, the 6-foot-4, 275-pounder dominated.
On defense, he racked up 103 tackles and eight sacks. On offense, he helped power an offense that included 2,406-yard rusher Dylan Kautz.
