The Big Ten is going to be playing a little more football on Friday nights, starting next year.
As first reported by the Chicago Tribune, the league's new television deal includes a package of six prime-time Friday games starting in 2017, with the broadcasts split between ESPN and Fox.
The specific games to be played on Friday next season have not yet been announced, but reportedly may be known as early as this week. The best indications are Nebraska won't be one of those Friday night games in 2017.
The Huskers will, however, play one Friday night game at home over the next three years if selected by the television networks, which is a likely occurrence given the Nebraska brand name.
