It’s becoming a much tougher task each passing season. The head coach of the Nebraska’s men’s gymnastics team finds himself having to leave off some talented gymnasts from a lineup of 30 spots.
“There’s going to be a lot upset people, but we’ve talked about that,” Chmelka said. “I’ve got a tough decision to make and that’s what I want.
“You want to compete? You be the one that stands out so much that there’s no way that I can’t put you in.”
No. 8 Nebraska had to replace eight seniors entering this season. That left a lot of holes in the lineup, but several young gymnasts have stepped up to beef up the Huskers’ depth.
