At long last, Shavon Shields will play a basketball game.
The Nebraska senior forward, who’s missed four straight games after suffering a concussion and neck strain Feb. 6, is expected to play Thursday when Nebraska (14-14, 6-9 Big Ten Conference) plays at Penn State (14-13, 5-9).
“I would expect he’ll play; I don’t know how much,” Nebraska coach Tim Miles said after Wednesday’s practice. “I think he expects to be Shavon, and I just want him to be the best he can be right now.”
To say his return is welcome would be a severe understatement.
