Nebraska's beach volleyball team split a pair of matches Friday in El Cajon, California, dropping a 3-2 match to Concordia-Irvine before bouncing back with a 4-1 victory over Grossmont.
Nicklin Hames and Lauren Stivrins led the Huskers at No. 1 with a sweep over Irvine, 21-14 in both sets, before the Eagles took the next three matches. Callie Schwarzenbach and Megan Miller added the Huskers second point with a 2-1 victory at No. 5.
Hames and Stivrins won their second match of the day against Grossmont, and the Huskers responded with three consecutive wins after Grossmont tied the match 1-1.
