I’ve never found the whole “we win offseason championships” thing very funny. Maybe I did a little bit at first, but only in that manner we laugh as a way of easing the pain with teeth gritted a little.
And the reason is because, after a year or two, it’s a way of making light of the fact the off-season hype again failed to be matched by actual production come fall. And again and again and again.
This very much pre-dates Matt Rhule who, if I’m fair, is in the midst of second - or second and a half - Huskers offseason as the Nebraska Cornhuskers Head Coach.
