Lincoln, Neb. --- Haanif Cheatham had 16 points on Friday night against Rutgers, but it was not enough for Nebraska, as the Huskers dropped their first game of the new year by a score of 79-62 to the Scarlet Knights at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
Rutgers improved to 11-3 on the year and 2-1 in the Big Ten, while Nebraska fell to 6-8 on the year and 1-2 in the Big Ten. Rutgers improved to 2-1 in conference play for the first time since joining the Big Ten in 2014-15 and the 17-point win was the largest road win in school history.
